support you can depend on.
FoxPro is a
powerful tool to manage your company's important data.

an old DOS Foxpro application, but realize the hardware
it's running on won't last forever. And you're not
sure how to move it to a more recent Windows
version. Maybe your company has outgrown your custom
Foxpro application, and now you need to migrate it to SQL

from time to time, but need a little help and guidance
every now and then.
Where do you turn for help? Surfing
the internet to find competent Visual Foxpro Programmers
can be a daunting task. We're here to help answer
your questions. So we hope you'll contact us. There's no
charge for the initial consultation.

Looking for someone closer to your
business?
When it comes to installing and
supporting computer hardware, it makes sense to hire local
talent. For PC’s, servers and printers, you need a
reputable company who can dispatch support technicians
quickly to meet your hardware needs.
But when it comes to computer software,
you have more options. With high speed internet
connections (DSL, T1, Cable), you’ll be pleased to
discover that you’ll get the same great service and
programming support whether we’re five miles or 2,000
miles from your office.
We’ve worked with customers from
California to New York, from Florida to Washington
State. Most of them have never met us in person—but
are extremely pleased with our service, work ethic and
attention to detail.
However, if you’d still prefer a
personal visit, we can accommodate your request for onsite
visits as well.
| How can you be sure you're
working with a reputable company?
Considering
how easy it is to build a web site and hang out
an electronic shingle, how can you be confident
that the software development company you choose
will meet your needs today--and tomorrow--at a
fair price? That's a valid concern,
especially if you're hundreds, even thousands of
miles away.
First, be sure to ask for
references from any programming shop you're
thinking about working with. And then, call
those references!
Second, find out how long the
FoxPro developer has been in business. Most
companies fail before they reach their fifth
birthday. It's true that past performance
doesn't guarantee future results. But all
things being equal, wouldn't you rather work with
FoxPro programmers who have been around the block
a few times, rather than someone who may be
hearing about your issue for the first time?
Since 1994, our FoxPro
programmers have been developing software apps,
starting with FoxPro for DOS--and have continued
to upgrade our skill sets as FoxPro evolved to
version 9.0. We take full advantage of VFP's
object-oriented programming capabilities wherever
possible. This software enables us to write custom
software that's tailored to meet our clients
specific needs. For example:
 |
Our FoxPro developers build
electronic bridges so clients
can move business data securely and
accurately between different systems, at
minimal cost. If you manually transfer
data--either internally or with outside
vendors, we can save you time!
For example,
we've written a FoxPro interface for a
bank, allowing them to automatically
request flood certifications.
Previously, they manually sent faxes,
waited for fax responses and then manually
entered data into their system. Our
interface improved their productivity
immediately.
|
 |
If you're tired of
rekeying data into your order entry
system, and then again into Quickbooks or
Peachtree, we can help!
For example,
we wrote a Quickbooks interface for
a franchise which allows them to create
new customer records and invoices in their
VFP system, and then automatically post
the updates into Quickbooks with the touch
of a button.
|
 |
We develop
user-friendly data entry systems that
make intelligent use of radio buttons,
dropdown lists, auto-prefilling textboxes,
and date lookup features. We realize that
many users want to navigate using their
mouse. But faster typists prefer
keeping their fingers on the keyboard. No
matter which type of user you are, we can
build screens that best meet your people's
needs.
For example,
we wrote a system that allows data
entry clerks to enter incoming orders very
rapidly--automatically printing out work
tickets without requiring users to take
their hands off the keyboard or issue
extra commands.
|
 |
We take advantage of
today's technologies to reduce errors and speed
data collection. If you'd like
to automate your
inventory tracking processes,
by all means contact us! We've developed
barcode applications which are totally
event driven. Unlike keyboard wedge
systems, which do little more than fool
your computer into thinking that the input
is coming from the keyboard, our
applications respond to scans from
different sources.
For example,
a user could scan his ID badge, then scan
several inventory items, and finally scan
a customer barcode. We program our systems
to identify these events in order to track
who used which part(s) for which
customer. Imagine how this could
simplify your inventory management and
billing systems! |

"I/O Technologies
is the most competent IT group I've
ever worked with. And they are very
diligent on follow through; I give
them very high marks. If there would
be a problem, they have dial-in
access to our computer and when we
called them we could see activity
almost immediately. However, we've
had no problems.
Dave has supporting
staff so he has backup which was a
major reason we selected him several
years ago. I'd hate to be without
him."

"I just wanted to
write to let you know how thrilled
I am with the recurring routes! I
don't think I thank your staff
enough for all the work they put
into making things work for us. I
really appreciate everything.
Thanks for the fabulous recurring
routes and the QuickBooks
connection. I used / needed it
today and it worked perfectly - a
great addition to the program!
Pass my gratitude
on to everyone who works with us.
I feel very fortunate to be
working with a company that works
at a project until it works well! Thank
you!"

"We've dramatically
reduced our servicing costs due in
large part to the efficiencies from
the application developed by I/O
Technologies. They've allowed us to
automate many routine functions.
Also, Dave is very knowledgeable
about our business and we didn't
have to teach him.
They were so easy
to work with, too--they're very good
at translating business needs to
geek and back again. They're really
bilingual. I'd certainly recommend
him; I wish we had people like that
in-house."

Our approach to
doing business.
Jeanie and I appreciate your interest in
our company, and hope you'll explore what we have to
offer. We're the owners of I/O Technologies Inc and
take an active part in day-to-day operations.
Dave founded I/O Technologies Inc in
March of 1994. Originally we ran our company out of
a spare bedroom, and had one major client. Over
time, our client base has grown--helped largely by the
internet--to the point where we now employ four full-time
programmers and several support staff, working from office
space in Germantown Wisconsin.
Dave started developing Foxpro
applications in 1991, starting with Foxpro for DOS and
moving on from there. Ever since Microsoft purchased
FoxPro and continued enhancing the software, we've kept on
honing our skills and taking greater advantage of VFP's
object-oriented programming language. We really
enjoy working with FoxPro. It's blindingly fast, and
comes with its own built in database.
While we understand that Microsoft will
continue supporting VFP 9.0 through the year 2015, we also
realize that many companies prefer to migrate their
applications over to a .NET environment. Lately a
larger portion of our workload has been devoted to doing
just that. The .NET framework has continued to
undergo considerable enhancements over recent years, and
we also enjoy working in this development environment.
A lot of people have asked why we don't
outsource our work overseas. We made a conscious
decision not to go that route, for several reasons.
First, we believe that there are plenty of folks right
here in the USA who share our solid work ethic. Our
programmers can usually match or exceed the productivity
levels of several of their counterparts overseas.
Second, we've chosen to restrict our development efforts
to North America, and its corresponding time zones.
Someone's usually here in the office from about 6am
through 6pm CST. But we also have families.
Jeanie and I were married in 1996 and have six
children. And we're active members of our church and
community. We believe in cultivating family life at
home. The idea of outsourcing work overnight to
people who may likely call at odd hours with questions
about work sent their way is not something I'd like to
entertain.
We know you have a lot of options when
selecting a programming company. We hope you'll
touch base with us to talk about your programming
needs. We're confident you'll like what you see and
hear when you contact us.
